With this as general public knowledge, Inter Milan with attempt to squeeze every Euro out of Real Madrid for Maicon. The 29 year old Brazilian International is also wanted by Manchester City who are said to have entered the picture & this will not doubt increase the asked selling price. Real Madrid thinks that 25M€ is a fair price while Inter Milan is thinking more along the lines of 35M€. Mourinho is insisting, independently of the rising price, that Maicon is a TOP PRIORITY. Staying with REAL MADRID, the almost now “sensationalist” Spanish Sports daily “Marca” publish with front cover & old rumour that again begins to gain strength. According to the paper the Spanish Club has ideas to lure away from LIVERPOOL FC Captain STEVEN GERRARD. Coach Jose Mourinho enjoys having with him players entering their “twilight” & with lots of experience & he believes he can get some great mileage out of the English International. The operation would be difficult, but the economic problems at Liverpool could open the door.
I am sure that these are just two names of many more that will be appearing in the coming weeks. Summer is ripe for rumours & speculations in the Football World, just as Summer is ideal for the breeding of mosquitoes!

The latest fall-out from the LIVERPOOL FC financial disaster is that REAL MADRID CF may get in on a possible “Liverpool FC Garage Sale” & bid for Captain STEVEN GERRARD. As “The Daily Mirror” puts on its online edition (above), Real Madrid could put on the Anfield table 34M€ to help easy the money pains & the worries of Steven Gerrard.
Three years ago Real Madrid made a serious attempt to lure the Englishman away from Liverpool which forced the Club to beef up his contract with an extension & more money. The Spanish Club is reported to have “sounded out” the player’s inner circle to figure what is on the mind of the Liverpool Captain. Gerrard has already said no twice to Chelsea FC due to the “revolution” that would cause within the fan base & thus the option of playing overseas could be a alternative.
I would imagine that before this rumour gets any further that current Liverpool FC Manager / Coach Benitez could propose to Gerrard that he follow him to his new adventure if this finally does occur. Apart from this, I would think that apart from Real Madrid there would be a few big European Clubs that would not mind having Gerrard put on their shirt.

STEVEN GERRARD with the Spanish giants REAL MADRID. The latest
comes from the English paper “The Daily Mail” as seen below in the
online edition caption:
It is said that Gerard wishes to leave his Club because it cannot
guarantee the titles that a player of his calibre & quality should be
celebrating on a yearly basis. Liverpool FC is going through a
“horror” season after selling big names (Xabi Alonso), being knocked
out of the Champions League, the FA Cup & hovering at the middle
of the ladder in the Premier League without any titles this year
in sight.
Apart from Real Madrid who has asked about the player on numerous
occasions,Italian Club Inter Milan & English Club Manchester City are
also interested. I am sure that most Clubs will wait to see how
Steven Gerrard performs in the upcoming World Cup. The future
will depend on how well he “showcases” himself in front of the
World audience. Lastly, remember other names are being associated
with Real Madrid, like Franck Ribery, De Rossi (AC Roma), David
Silvia & Cesc Fabregas.

The English paper “The Sun” is not the most reliable source in the
World, however the English side LIVERPOOL FC is not having it most
spectacular season so far in the Premier League. The cited media
source, picked up here locally by “AS”, publish that REAL MADRID
could make a 38-40M€ (or more) offer for STEVEN GERRARD for
next season.
Why not? Steven Gerrard is one of Europe’s great attacking midfielders
with on field personality who may look positively moving to Real
Madrid to finish his career. Add to this the possibility of Coach Pelligrini
finally not convincing & Real Madrid looking at Rafael Benitez as his
substitute because Liverpool decide to end with the latters services.
Imagine, Xavi Alonso, Arbeloa & Gerrard together, it is pure speculation
from SFS part & full of fantasy, but Football changes so quickly anything
is possible. Lastly, Real President Perez & General Manager Valdano have
never hidden their admiration for the English player.
