Atletico de Madrid has signed well; Mandzukic, Griezzmann & Raul Jimenez, but they still need time to get into the groove & many still remember Diego Costa & his explosive counter-attack runs from midfield. With the Summer transfer summer window to close the 31st of August Clubs are rushing to shut their final offers & transfer/signing attempts.
Spanish Sports paper "AS" informs that Atletico de Madrid has targeted Swiss International & Bayern Munich player Shaquiri. The problem is that Italian Club Juventus FC is also interested & is bidding hard for the Swiss. Added to all this it seems the player has his own preference & would prefer to play in Italy.
Atletico has alternatives in case Shaquiri fails, names being said are Cerci (Torino) & Lavezzi (Paris St Germain). The former was nearly a "done deal" days back & Cerci even put on his Twitter that he was going over to Atletico before removing the tweet & blaming "hackers".
Stay tuned, it looks as if Atletico de Madrid may make a final push & effort to sign one of the mentioned players in the next days.
