GOLDEN BOY 2014 LIST 40 CANDIDATES

Italian Football media "Tuttosport" has let known the list of 40 candidates for the "2014 Golden Boy Award". Italian & prestigious European journalist vote who they believe is the "Best U-21 Football Player of the Year". Last year Pogba (Juventus ) with past winners Isco (Real Madrid), Wayne Rooney, Cesc Fabragas, Sergio Aguero & Mario Balotelli

Spanish Football has the following youngsters as candidates:

Gerard Deulofeu (Sevilla FC), Aymeric Laporte (Athletic Bilbao), Munir El Haddai (FC Barcelona), Saul Niguez (Atletico de Madrid), Sandro Ramirez (FC Barcelona). Plus another Spaniard is a contender who is playing in Portugal, Oliver Torres , currently with Porto.

Other candidates & Leagues:

Premier League: Nabil Bentaleb (Tottenham), Calum Chambers (Arsenal), Adnan Januzaj (Manchester United), Lazar Markovic (Liverpool), Eric Dier (Tottenham), Luke Shaw (Manchester United), Raheem Sterling (Liverpool), John Stones (Everton), Kurt Zouma (Chelsea).

Serie A: Domenico Berardi (Sassuolo), Franco Bernardeschi (Fiorentina), Kingsley Coman (Juventus), Keita Balde Diao (Lazio), Mateo Kovacic (Inter).

FOOTBALL | LIST OF 40 CANDIDATES "GOLDEN BOY AWARD" FOR U-21

Italian media "Tuttosport", which hands the "Golden Boy Football Award" - the equivalent of the FIFA Golden Ball for U-21 players - , handed in its 40 candidates for this year. Last year the winner was Spanish International & Real Madrid midfielder Isco.

This year two Spanish U-21 Internationals are on the list: Oliver ( At.Madrid ) & Jese Rodriguez ( Real Madrid ). The favourite is Juventus & French International Pogba who won the FIFA U-20 World Cup & starring in Italy.

MALAGA FC ISCO WINS 2012 GOLDEN BOY

Spanish U-21 International & MALAGA FC player ISCO was awarded the 2012 GOLDEN BOY, title given to the "Best U-21 Player in European Football". Isco wins ahead of El Shaarawy (Ac Milan ) with 125 votes , third went to Atletico de Madrid goalkeeper Courtois with 116 votes.

SPANISH FOOTBALL CANDIDATES | GOLDEN BOY AWARD

Plenty of Spanish U-21 Internationals & Spanish Football based youngsters are on the list of candidates for this years "Golden Boy Award". The title is handed in by Italian paper "Tuttosport" with the votes of 30 journalists that will claim the "Best U-21 player in European Football". The winner will be announce December at the city of Turin ( Italy ) HQ of the Sports paper.

Congratulations to Borussia Dortmund youngster MARIO GOETZE who was awarded by the Italian newspaper "Tuttosport" this years "GOLDEN BOY AWARD", or the "Best Under - 21 European Footballer".

The news has taken some back here in Spain, & perhaps in Barcelona,  as the "hot favourite" was FC BARCELONA & Spanish Football International midfielder THIAGO ALCANTRA. The Barça player finished 2º in the voting ahead of Belgium (French Club Lille player) youngster Eden Hazard who finished in  3º place. More than 30 Sports journalists around Europe were in charge of placing their votes to acclaim the overall winner.


SPANISH FOOTBALL DOMINATES "GOLDEN BOY U-21 AWARD" CANDIDATES

The list of candidates that will opt for this years "GOLDEN BOY AWARD" has been handed in with a clear SPANISH FOOTBALL flavour. The Award has a "peculiar" title but is no less prestigious as it its the equivalente to the "FIFA GOLDEN BALL AWARD",  but in this case for Under-21 players.

The Spanish National players are Thiago Alcantara, Muniain, Oriol, Alvaro Vazquez, Rodrigo, Sergio Canales & Dani Pacheco, while other non-Spanish youngsters elected as candidates, & playing in Spanish Football are Varane, Courtois & Griezmann. According to some media sources the favourite is THIAGO ALCANTARA (FC Barcelona).
