As speculated & written here, Spanish Football Club Real Madrid has announced that they have officially signed 23 year old Porto & Brazilian right-back Danilo. The operation has cost 31,5M€ & the player signs for the next 6 years. The Brazilian will incorporate himself with Real Madrid after this season & being the pre-season summer training with his new Club.
Danilo has been with Porto for the last 3 years where he has evolved into one of European Football best & finest defensive promises. The Brazilian National Team Coach Dunga has already began to incorporate on a regular basis the right-back into the Brazilian squad.
The arrival of Danilo sends a message to current right-back veteran Alvaro Arbeloa that perhaps he should begin looking elsewhere for his Football future. We will need to see what Arbeloa decides.
A while back it was mentioned here that the big Spanish Football Clubs were following Porto 23 year old Brazilian right back Danilo . Today we jump from speculation & into the news published by Spanish Sports paper "AS" that Real Madrid has "pole position" after the player expressed his willingness to make the jump over to La Liga.
This affirmation by the player has apparently lead Porto to put a starting price of around 30M€ for a possible transfer. The player will also do his part by not renewing his contract at Porto thus making his sale an incentive for the Portuguese Club.
Staying at Porto, Real Madrid on loan player Casemiro is having a wonderful season & it is commented that Real Madrid may call the midfielder back for next season. However, the Portuguese Club wants the loan of Casimero extended another season.
Will this desire by Porto be used by Real Madrid in their negotiations for Danilo? Stay tuned!
Note down this name, Danilo Luiz da Silva, or simply Danilo, a 23 year old Brazilian International & current FC Porto right back. The player is "exploding" in Portuguese Football & has attracted the attention of the big European Clubs. Two of those are Spanish Soccer giants Real Madrid & FC Barcelona which see Danilo as the perfect replacements for Alvaro Arbeloa & Dani Alves respectively.
However, as mentioned the competition is stiff, with Paris St Germain, AC Roma, Manchester United & City, along with Bayern Munich on the case. The player ends contract 2016 & Porto Club President is rubbing his hands with glee. Pinto da Costa, Porto President, is famed as a "hard ass bargainer" & will make all budding interested Clubs sweat. The current market value is around 25M€ but the demand may eventually push the price around the 35-40M€ mark.
Real Madrid knows it will not not be easy, while Barça has the FIFA no signing until 2016 penalty on its shoulders. The player himself is cautious & not saying a word, obviously smart.
Stay tuned, & remember the name, Danilo.
