The red card given to Real Madrid Captain
& defender Sergio Ramos against Deportivo yesterday in Pound 1 of LA LIGA season
2017-2018 makes him the player with most "sending offs" in the History of the
Spanish Football competition. Although the red card was initially "excessive"
& Real Madrid will appeal against it to the "Arbitrary Tribunal", the fact
is that Sergio Ramos is up there on the all-time list of red card receivers in
Spanish Football.
The current Top 10 list
is:
- Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid) – 18 red cards in 405 Liga matches
- Pablo Alfaro (Zaragoza, Barça, Racing, At. Madrid, Sevilla…) - 18 (418 games)
- Xavi Aguado (Real Zaragoza) – 18 (383 games)
- Juanito (Zaragoza, At Madrid, Sevilla …) – 17
- Patxi Salinas (Ath.Bilbao, Celta …) 15
- Fernando Hierro (Real Madrid) – 14
- Lopo (Espanyol, Deportivo…) – 14
