Below is the Historic Team Photo of the starting 11 members, with later substitute incorporations of Gareth Bale, Alvaro Morata & Asensio
Cristiano Ronaldo also makes history being the first player who scores first in 3 finals. Apart he takes the leading Champions League goalscorer tally & has half ticket to get his 5th Golden Ball later in the year. The Portuguese star scored twice in tonight's Final.
The first half was very even with Juventus coming out very concentrated & intensely. The Italians rattled the Spaniards in the first 20 mins & Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas needed to make a miracle one handed save from a Pjanic.
Although Real Madrid scored first with a fabulous Cristiano Ronaldo goal, Juventus reacted rapidly equalizing through Mandzukic with a spectacular overhead kick-goal. It seemed the game would be very balanced but things changed drastically in the second half.
Call it the tiredness of Juventus or the freshness of Real Madrid, the 2ยบ half was a Real Madrid show. The Spanish Football team took control of the ball with up to 65% of ball domination . Juventus has not the quality to withstand this form of Football & began to suffer. Important players like Toni Kroos & Modric came into play, along with a marvellous Isco who began to shine. Add to this Casemiro sweeping the dangerous plays, Carvajal speeding down the his flank, Ramos & Varane solid in defence & Marcelo being dangerous... the whole team was on a roll.
The Real Madrid domination paid its dividends with goals from Casemiro, Cristiano Ronaldo & Asensio to complete an excellent victory over Juventus.
The goals
- Cristiano Ronaldo 20th min, 0 - 1
- Mundzakic 27th min, 1 - 1
- Casemiro 61st min, 1 - 2
- Cristiano Ronaldo 64th min, 1 - 3
- Asensio 90th min, 1 - 4
Lastly Real Madrid Coach Zidane gave a run & made participates of the Final & victory, Grath Bale & Alvaro Morata keeping his philosophy of making every member of the squad feel important, a success factor.
Congratulations to Real Madrid for the win & excellent season. Spanish Football once again rules European Football at Club level.
