SPAIN 4 ISRAEL 1 | WORLD CUP 2018 GROUP QUALIFIER

World Cup 2018 European Qualifier tonight with SPAIN defeating ISRAEL 4 - 1 to maintain the top spot of their Group. Important match to win for the Spaniards as the winner of this Group looks like being either Spain or Italy, the latter also winning 2 - 0 Albania. The Italians are also fighting for the top spot of the Group that gives direct qualification for Russia 2018.

Spain dominated practically most of the game with 75% ball possession while Israel mostly defended looking for the counter-attacks. Good exhibition from Spain which seems to be finding that "old magic" again. The return of Pique, Sergio Ramos & Iniesta was important reason, but David Silva was the "man of the match". Virtually all over the field & Silva participated in nearly every Spanish goal. Excellent performance.

Israel had a few Golden moments, one with a fabulous and needed David De Gea goalkeeping save from an Israeli header, with the other a nice "consolation goal" late in the second half.

Other moments to mention was Isco who came on for Vitolo mid-late 2º half & demonstrated some quality moves & even scored a "cheeky" goal.

Next match for Spain is an International Friendly next Tuesday in Paris against France. Game between two tradition rivals & great sparring moment.
