ROMANIA 0 SPAIN 0 | INTERNATIONAL FRIENDLY RESULT

Spain played Romania away in tonight´s International Friendly match which ended in a 0 - 0 final result. The draw was another disappointing result after the other drawn result against Italy four days ago. The Spanish Football Team travels back home with more doubts than optimism as the team is far from what we expect or have been used to in the past.

Spain National Team

Spanish National Coach Vicente Del Bosque gave a run to players that did not participate against Italy. The starting line-up was:

Casillas, Mario, Pique, Bartra, Jordi Alba, Sergi Roberto, Koke, Silva, Pedro, Nolito & Alcacer.

Iker Casillas notched up his 166th International Cap & became the European player which more Internationals in History. The all-time record of international Caps is held by Egyptian Ahmed Hassan with 184 games.

Romania started slow but gradually began to create goal chances putting Spain on the back foot. Spanish goalkeeper Iker Casillas was made to work tonight as with most of the Spanish defence. Romania defended well & kept finding the back of the Spanish defenders were they only failed to converted their created chances.

This was the anecdote for most of the match, with Spain finding glimpses of their game even with the late substitutes. The Spaniards looked slow, at times unmotivated & more worrying, lacking intensity. This last area is worth noting as the Spanish players were "pushed around" in the midfield losing many balls.

It is obvious that Spain suffers without Busquets, Iniesta & Sergio Ramos, but the added problem is the lack of firepower, that lack of GOAL.

The only good news is that Spain came only improve.

Next international Friendly is against Bosnia the 29th of May.
