A group of UEFA experts have handed in their list of players that make up the "Ideal Team" for Champions League 2014 - 2015. This time around the "expert's" name 18 players instead of the habitual 11 players. The list is dominated by FC Barcelona players & there are 5 Spanish born players in the list including young Alvaro Morata who "exploded" in the semis & the final with decisive goals. There is however something curious in that no Bayern Munich player has been included even though they did make the semi-finals.
UEFA Ideal Team Champions League 2014/15 full list of 18 players:
Goalkeepers: Ter Stegen (Barcelona) & Buffon (Juventus).
Defenders: Ivanovic (Chelsea), Chiellini (Juventus), Mascherano, Pique & Alba (Barcelona).
Midfielders: Rakitic, Busquets, Iniesta (Barcelona), Pirlo, Marchisio (Juventus) & Kroos (Real Madrid).
Forwards: Neymar, Messi, Suárez (Barcelona), Morata (Juventus) & Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid).
