Two bottom placed Clubs met this midday in a very entertaining game of Football. Deportivo A Coruña drew 2 - 2 will Granada, with the latter making a comeback. In fact, Depor let off the hook Granada & basically let slip the 3 points.
Although Granada got ahead first through Piti with his 7th min goal, Depor reacted with goals from Jose Rodriguez in the 35th min & another through Lucas in the 39th min. However, Granada recovered & equalized when Robert got his goal in the 84th min. Shared points.
Very even game with a final 1 - 1 result between Athletic Club Bilbao & Malaga FC. Athletic got the opener through San Jose in the 70th min, while the equalizer for Malaga came in the 78th min by Javi Guerra.
Very impressive performance by RCD Espanyol after defeating Almeria 3 - 0. The result could have been greater for Espanyol as they created plenty of goal scoring opportunities throughout the game. The goalscorers were Stuani with two goals - 36th & 39th min - while in form Caicedo got the third in the 74th min.
Valencia CF hosted Sevilla FC in the match of the day. Both Clubs want to join the current "Big Boys" of Spanish Football - Real Madrid, Barça & Atletico - & aim for the Champions League next season. The final result of 3 - 1 to Valencia slammed their fist on the table in authoritative fashion & with a solid performance. An overall team effort from Valencia that halted the Sevilla attacks including a penalty saved by goalie Diego Alves in the 41st min, just when Sevilla was coming back strongly.
The goals fell in the following order:
- Parejo (penalty) 18th min, 1 - 0
- Parejo 33rd min, 2 - 0
- Bacca (penalty), 2 - 1
- Javi Fuego 55th min, 3 - 1
Valencia grab the 4th place on the Liga classification table, 2 points ahead of Sevilla FC which sits in 5th position.
