It was the best friend of Cesc Fabregas, team-mate Gerard Pique who unwittingly let the cat out of the bag when an open microphone captured the conversation between himself & Spanish Football National Team Selector & Coach Vicente del Bosque two days ago. While both were waiting for the press conference to start, Pique said that Cesc was leaving FC Barcelona,... that it was a done deal & that the price was 33M€. The Spanish Coach asked, "how do you know", to which Pique replied, "Cesc told me".
The Club is Chelsea FC & Cesc Fabregas will earn 10M€ gross per year, that is, 3M€ than at Barça. All that is now needed are the final "fine details" between the player & the English Premier League Club.
The operation was so advanced that FC Barcelona immediately began looking for a substitute & the chosen player is Sevilla FC & Croatian International Ivan Ratikic. According to Spanish media the player & Barça have a verbal agreement & the transfer price could be around 20M€ plus Barça player Tello.
Ratikic has been linked to Atletico de Madrid in the past weeks & apparently there was a verbal agreement here as well. Thus we will have to see how things evolve between Clubs & if Atletico de Madrid makes a last effort & offer.
Stay tuned!
