Alarm bells at Celta de Vigo & Coach Luis Enrique questioned & on the edge. Another loss this time to Levante which grabbed the victory in the 88th min from a Diop volley. It seemed everything was against Celta tonight, a heavy storm came in a deluge which caused a power blackout that left the stadium dark at half time. The delay until the lights got back on "killed" the momentum that Celta had gained after a good first half of play.
But fortunate was not on the side of Celta & in the very end Levante got the winner. Final score 0 - 1
Authoritative victory by Athletic Club Bilbao 2 - 0 over Villarreal. The work & the damage to Villarreal was done in the first half. Bilbao scored their first in the 33rd min thanks to Mikel Rico & Aduriz got quickly the second in the 35th min. The crucial moment - & harsh luck - for Villarreal came in the 45th min when Bruno was shown the 2ยบ yellow card & thus the red card that left Villarreal with 10 men. Looking at the replay the referee was very strict in his interpretation & the visitors may feel they were badly done.
With Villarreal a man less, Athletic had all the advantage & nearly scored more but Villarreal held out to stop being overridden & admirably put a brave showing under the circumstances.
Bilbao gets another three points & keeps them joyfully in the upper part of the Liga ladder (6th).
