If two Clubs needed a win & the three points they were RCD Espanyol & Malaga FC which after 90 mins of play only managed a final 0- 0 draw result. The protagonists & main players responsible for the draw were the two goalkeepers: Kiko Casillas of Espanyol & Willy Caballero of Malaga FC. Amazing saves all match & a exhibition "Masterclass" of goalkeeping from both.
Celta de Vigo hosted FC Barcelona & lost 0 - 3. The visitors gave Pique, Mascherano, Xavi & Neymar a rest & continued as if nothing was different. Celta gave Barça a worry or two in the early part of the match but Barça keeper Victor Valdes put water over the "Celta flame".
The first goal came in the 9th min from Alexis. This was later followed by a "goal" from Cesc Fabregas in the 48th min with a ball that hit the bar & Celta goalie Yoel helped knock into the net after it well down . Cesc Fabregas got his second & Barça third in the 54th min with Barça dominant & rolling. Barça could have scored more had not Yoel ( Celta goalie ) not played his part, plus Lionel Messi was foiled & frustrated all night in his attempts to score a goal ( hit the post ) & thus end his particular "dry spell".
