Excellent start by Real Sociedad with a 2 - 0 victory over Madrid Club Getafe. A good confidence booster for Real Sociedad which will meet Olympic Lyon next week for the Champions League preliminary.
The locals started strong & hit the post early. Then Mexican International Carlos Vela got the opener with an fabulous chip goal in the 42nd min. Getafe reacted early in the second half but fizzed out as Real Sociedad new signing Seferaric got the second in the 70th min.
Competitive match at Valladolid that went down 1 - 2 to Athletic Club Bilbao. Chances to both teams with Bilbao taking the match their way due to small details & defensive errors that tipped the balance.
Bilbao opened with a goal by Susaeta in the 28th min that was quickly answer with an equalizer in the 31st min by Ebert. The winner came in the 50th min when Muniain took the "crumbs" from a bad clearance that included a post.
Very even & fought out match between Valencia CF & Malaga FC were the home team took the three points thanks to a goalkeeping mistake. After battling it out between both sides Valencia player Ricardo Costa got the winner in the 64th min after Malaga goalie Willy Caballero made a huge mistake that saw Costa pounce & "kill". Final result 1 - 0.
