Madrid Club Rayo Vallecano host newly promoted Elche & won 3 - 0 in a very clear & effective fashion. Elche experienced first hand that their is an important difference between 2ยบ Division & Liga & will need to work more to lift in grade. The goals came in the 39th min via Bueno with the second in the 43rd from Perea & Bueno again scored in the 74th min.
Celta de Vigo hosted RCD Espanyol in a very entertaining game of Football. It was a see-saw match with the first half going to Celta & then Espanyol making a determined comeback in the second half.
The goals for Celta came via Alex Lopez in the 42th min & from ex-Almeria forward Carles in the 46th min. Espanyol then lifted & Victor Sanchez scored a "gem" in the 53rd min to latter see Espanyol substitute Thievy get the equalizer in the 75th min. Espanyol had a last moment chance that Stauni failed to convert & nearly gave a "heart-attack" to the Celta home fans.
Final result 2 - 2.
Another comeback at Almeria from visitors Villareal which turned it all around to win 2 - 3 in a great late second half. Almeria had things under control most of the time with two goals from Rodri - 39th & /4th min - but also with some bad luck with an own goal from defender Trujillo in the 65 which gave hopes to Villareal. The visitors lifted & new signing Giovani equalized in the 83rd min & Jonathan Pereira got the third & winner in the 85th min as Almeria "collapsed".
