SEVILLA FC played DEPORTIVO A CORUÑA yesterday in the now habitual Friday night Spanish League Round kick - off. The locals regained their lost form & looked more the team we were accustomed to seasons back. It´s true that the opponent under new Coach Vazquez is terminally ill & looks destined to be relegated as it sits in last place of the Spanish League classification table. Sevilla scored first via RAKITIC in the 6 th min & soon after Sevilla Chilean International midfielder MEDAL took things under his control. He scored the other two team goals, the first in 27th min & the second in the 40th min.
Earlier Deportivo bravely reacted with a RIKI goal in the 32nd min but the was all. Final result 3 - 1 to Sevilla FC
Madrid Club GETAFE are a consistent team & managed a 3 - 1 victory over another troubled Club CELTA DE VIGO. Even start between both sides with Getafe striking first in the 9th min thanks to COLUNGA, then later Celta reacted with an equalizer in the 19th min via FERNANDEZ. Celta lasted up to there, Getafe got back ahead with a DIEGO CASTRO 33rd min goal & another came in the 41st min with FEDERICO FERNANDEZ. Celta never recovered.
MALAGA FC have their mind on Champions League next week against Oporto. They hosted ATHLETIC CLUB BILBAO & nearly paid for their "day-dreaming" had it not been for their Argentine goalkeeper WILLY CABALLERO who put in a "blinder" to keep out Bilbao all match with save after save. Extraordinary.
In the 17th min SAVIOLA managed the only goal, the eventual winner in the 17th min to secure the three points & the focus on Europe. Final score 1 - 0 to Malaga
Difficult game at GRANADA which hosted FC BARCELONA without Xavi, Puyol & Iniesta starting & thinking about AC Milan coming up next week in Champions League. The locals went ahead first in the 26th min thanks to IGHALO & put things up hill for Barça.
But as many times before LIONEL MESSI (two goals) single handedly pulled the team cart & managed to turn things around & in the process score his 300 th goal with FC Barcelona when he knocked in a goalkeeper fumble from a Cesc Fabregas driver in the 50th min to equalize. Then the Argentine marvel got the winner in the 70th min from a majestically taken free-kick the gave his team the winner, three points & an assured good nights sleep. Final result 1 - 2 to FC Barcelona.
OSASUNA hosted REAL ZARAGOZA in a high tension encounter that was conditioned by a very early 4th min goal by Osasuna player KIKE SOLA. This forced Zaragoza to forget their game plan & go after the equalizer which they deserved but never came. Osasuna waited as they knew that Zaragoza would leave itself dangerously open & the locals had chances to "kill off" the visitors. Lucky or unluckily Zaragoza attacked & were not able to break through the Osasuna defence & goalkeeper. Final score 1 - 0 to Osasuna, not a good night for Zaragoza & worst its their sixth match without a victory.
