Two teams in classification problems, MALLORCA & OSASUNA played out a 1 - 1 draw. Intense match with missed opportunities & cliff hanger occasions proper of two teams playing for their First Division future. A defensive mess up allowed LOLO to get ahead in the 76th min for Osasuna. However, Mallorca managed a 91 st min equalizer that felt like victory. Both still in ladder trouble.
CELTA DE VIGO managed to keep at bay VALENCIA CF right up to the last moment. Game very even & fought out between both sides that put both goalkeepers up as the main protagonists. But Football can be a cruel game - for Celta at least - & a reward for endeavour - for Valencia - when Valencia forward VALDEZ headed the winner in the 93rd min. Final result 0 - 1 to Valencia.
LEVANTE lost to MALAGA FC 1 - 2 with new full Spanish International & Malaga modfielder ISCO the star. The Malaga youngster scored his teams two goals, the first in the 36th min via a penalty & the eventual winner in the 47th min. Before both mentioned goals BAKERO opened proceedings for Levante in the 27th min with a penalty.
DEPORTIVO A CORUÑA can´t get out of their relegation zone hole. Must admit that luck is not accompanying them at all in their attempts to save their season. GRANADA on the otherhand are working themselves out of danger with new Coach Alcaraz.
Things were equal until Granada got ahead with an own goal by Deportivo defender MARCHENA in the 45th min, very unlucky. This made the locals drop their heads somewhat & Granada went more ahead in the 51st min via IGHALO. The match fizzed out & Granada worked to maintain the status yet managed a last minute penalty that was not ( Depor defender Pablo got a red card for protesting ) & SIQUIERA got the third. Final result 3 - 0.
REAL MADRID has their heads thinking in the upcoming mid-week Champions League clash with Manchester United & Coach Mourinho left on the bench Ozil, Khedira & Pepe. But CRISTIANO RONALDO has his mind on each game he plays & tonight he scored a HAT TRICK before being substituted for some rest with Man United in mind.
Real Madrid gave an exhibition of counter-attacking Football that ripped apart Sevilla, apart from Ronaldo & is long range drives plus runs. But it was BENZEMA that first put Real Madrid ahead in the 17th min before CR7 took over. Goals in the 26th min with a long range flyer, in the 46th min from an Arbeloa pass that caught wrong footed the Sevilla defence & in the 58th min from a counter-attack that Higuian passed to CR7. Simply spectacular exhibition from CR7.
Higuain then received a red card ( 2 x yellow ) & the intensity of Madrid dropped with 10 men & the locals worked to hold & secure the result. Sevilla latter lost Maduro with a red card but managed a consolation goal in the 87th min from MANU DEL MORAL. Final score 4 - 1
Good win for Real Madrid that will lift moral for Champions.
