CELTA DE VIGO played REAL SOCIEDAD last night ending with a 1 - 1 final result. The locals started strong as they needed the points to get out of ladder trouble & scored first with KROHN-DEHLI in the 32 nd min. But instead of lifting the visitors grew strong & equalized in the 59th min via ELUSTONDO. The visitors then took over & had plenty of chances to finish the job off but did´nt. Celta let off the hook.
REAL ZARAGOZA & RCD ESPANYOL cancelled themselves out so well that their encounter finished in a 0 - 0 draw. Tactical & caution from both sides with added stick, that was everything except artful Football. Two red cards at the end of the game to each side ( Javi Lopez for Espanyol & Sapunura for Zaragoza). Shared points & not a game to be remembered.
Top match between DEPORTIVO A CORUÑA & VALENCIA CF that ended in a 2 - 3. Valencia got ahead via JONAS just after 30 seconds of play, this knocked Deportivo out & they needed time to shake off the punch. They did so with an inspired RIKI that got two goals - 32nd & 45th min.
Then while Deportivo was keeping the pace Silvio got a red card in the 52nd min which left Deportivo with 10 men, it was turning point. Valencia exploited the advantage & VALDEZ equalized in the 62nd min.
But Deportivo did not give in & held out the Valencia attacks to find at the end a chance to score the winner but Pizzi failed the opportunity. Luck then turned as the Deportivo defence weakened after an immense effort that allowed RICARDO COSTA to grab the winner in the 92nd min. The disappointment lead to another red card to Deportivo midfielder Assuncao that simply highlighted the teams frustration.
Great game, Deportivo deserved more but they paid for the Silvio 52nd min red card.
