A very worked 1 - 0 victory by ATHLETIC CLUB BILBAO over REAL CELTA DE VIGO with the solitary winning goal from ADURIZ in the 33rd min giving the three points. It was enough as Bilbao held out Celta which looked for the equalizer intensely all the match.

It was one way street Football as Atletico opened proceeding with DIEGO COSTA in the 23 rd min. From here it was the "Falcao Football Show" as he poured on the goals: 28th , 41st, 63rd ( penalty) , 67th & 70th min.
Historical night that the locals & Falcao will not forget & it sets up Atletico with high spirits as they meet FC Barcelona next Sunday. A match not to be missed at all.

REAL BETIS hosted FC BARCELONA & lost 1 - 2 in a game that should have given the home team something more. After being overridden in the first 30 mins Betis won back territory & poured on the chances, with an equalizer by RUBEN CASTRO in the 39th min & two posts that could have made a grand comeback.
Before all this LIONEL MESSI broke the goal scoring record in a natural year previously held by Gerd Muller (Torpedo) with 85 goals. The Argentine scored twice, first in the 15th min & again in the 25th min, to give Barça the victory & take his year tally to 86 goals in a year. The match at the end saw end to end stuff with Messi hitting the post & Betis not being able to find the net to grab a point.
Bad news for Barça was the leg muscle tear to Cesc Fabregas that will have him out 4-6 weeks & Puyol who went off with a physical complaint.
