SPANISH FOOTBALL action tonight with the posponed Round 3 LIGA match scheduled this mid-week. REAL BETIS hosted ATLETICO DE MADRID & lost 2- 4 with Atletico having to comeback twice. The victory puts Atletico in the second position of the Spanish League classification table, a position that the Club hasn't enjoyed for sometime.

Falcao

Real Betis started strongly & aggressively as they looked to get ahead early & take control. It occurred in the 25th min when a mistake by Atletico defender Miranda & goalie Asenjo allowed AGRA to score for Betis.

The reaction from Atletico was almost immediate when FALCAO equalized in the 28th min. Real Betis kept to their plan & continued being dangerous & got ahead again with a second via an own goal from Atletico defender JUAN FRAN in the 46th min.

The match turned badly against Betis as a penalty was called in Atletico´s favour in the 48th min which allowed FALCAO his second & gave a Red Card to Betis defender Perquis. Shortly after DIEGO COSTA ( who came on for Falcao ) got the third goal for Atletico in the 55th min.

There was more bad luck for Betis when Campbell saw a 2º yellow card & was sent off with a Red (unjustly) which left Betis down to just 9 men. Under these circumstances it was difficult for Real Betis & Atletico got a fourth via RAUL GARCIA in the 93rd min.

Betis will protest many referee decisions tonight, while Atletico enjoy the heights of the LIGA ladder.
