CHAMPIONS LEAGUE RESULTS | CHELSEA FC 3 VALENCIA CF 0 | FC BARCELONA 4 BATE BORISOV 0

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE final Group matches with Tuesday night action with 50% of the Clubs playing it out. Two SPANISH FOOTBALL representatives went to work with a good & bad result that will now be summarized below with the final results & the scorers.

Spanish Football
FC Barcelona

FC BARCELONA hosted BATE BORISOV with the top spot of Group H theirs & their minds already on Real Madrid for this Saturdays LIGA clash. Thus Barça Coach Guardiola took no risks & teamed his "youngsters" ( Rafinha, Cuenca, Pedro, Roberto, Fontas, Deulofeu, Montoya, Riverola...) to do the business, & they did.

The youngsters defeated the visiting team 4 - 0 in an exhibition. The goalscorers were SERGI ROBERTO in the 35th min, Montoya in the 59th min & PEDRO twice in the 62nd & 88th min (penalty).

Barça through to the next phase of Champions,  & now concentrated for this Saturdays "Clasico".

Spanish Football
Valencia CF lose to Chelsea FC

VALENCIA CF needed to win CHELSEA FC at London in their Group E match if they were to go through to the next phase of Champions, however so did Chelsea need to win & they did so 3 - 0. The English Club started electric & Valencia suffered the nerves of the occasion & the importance of the task ahead. Perhaps the lack of "big time" experience showed tonight for the Spanish team players.

DROGBA scored early in the 4th min to knock Valencia about psychologically & Chelsea again scored via RAMIRES in the 21st min. Chelsea was defending well, counter-attacking with speed & was deadly with the Valencia defensive mistakes.

Valencia tried to comeback & played admirably in attempting but kept running into a Chelsea defensive wall. The nerves built progressively as time raced & the inaccuracy in the Valencia play grew. Chelsea again took advantage of an anxious Valencia & DROGBA got his second & the third for his team in the 74th min. Too much for Valencia thereafter.

Valencia will be disappointed but have the Europa League competition to look for to & heal wounds.

More Champions League action tomorrow with Spanish Teams Real Madrid - Villareal.
