Apparently, Torres was very disappointed ( some say fuming ) last night for being discarded from the Spanish Football Team & Forced to watch the game from the stands. Sevilla FC forward ALVARO NEGREDO was chosen to be the Spanish forward & the man did not disappoint with two goals.
Negredo - Torres |
The pressure is certainly right on for Torres, as the competition is stiff with Negredo, Fernando Llorente & locally a hand full of others like Valencia CF player Roberto Soldado all knocking on the door. Fernando Torres form with his Club CHELSEA FC isn´t exactly what was expected & the goal "dry spell", or better said, inconsistency does not give "THE KID" much arguments to defend himself & make a case.
Yesterday, Spanish National Coach Vicente Del Bosque used "common sense" & put on the player better prepared & in current form, while at the same time sending a message to Torres to get his goal scoring act together at his Club or risk falling from grace.
I personally would not read much more into this simple "call" to attention. Fernando Torres is a true professional & very talented & I am sure this situation will motivate the player to better & regain the lost form. In the end everyone will end up winning; Torres, Chelsea FC & the National Team.
No one likes being left out, everyone has pride, but along with Torres in the stands was Cazorla, Javi Martinez, Montayo & Pepe Reina. This last has motive as well to be "disappointed", but how can you say Valdes is "less"?
Time for everyone to work, there is a European Championship at the end of the season & Spain needs super competitive & inform players. There are teams out there ( Holland, Germany, Italy, Engalnd...) all "dying" to knock Spain off its high "stool".
