Our younger readers may not know that current SPANISH FOOTBALL TEAM Selector & Coach Vicente del Bosque was a well known & successful player for REAL MADRID & a Spanish International. Below is Del Bosque as Captain of the SPAIN FOOTBALL TEAM in 1978 just before a EURO 1980 Italy Group qualifier against Cyprus.

In the match Vicente Del Bosque scored a goal in Spain´s 5-0 victory. Above the video - courtesy of RTVE - rtve.es - shows the goal with the player Nº6. Del Bosque was not known for his goals as his team  role was more a midfielder , Busquets type, that foiled opposition attacks & gave the forwards constructive passes. Tweet
