SPANISH U 21 NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM | CANALES KEEPS SPAIN ALIVE WITH GOAL | POLAND 0 SPAIN 1

It was very close to ruin & nerves were on the edge of all Spanish spectators as the SPANISH NATIONAL U 21 FOOTBALL TEAM managed to win 0 -1 POLAND to maintain itself in the running for the London Olympic Games 2012. It was a must win match for Spain who suffered under a very competitive Poland team that did not make things easy with an excellent & disciplined defence that stopped Spain most of the game.

However, in the 85th min a THIAGO free-kick strategically found SERGIOO CANALES who scored the winner & to Spain alive in this competition. Spain now qualifies as one of the best 2º placed group teams & will meet the other 2ºplaced sides in a knock-out round in October. It is a case of step by step, but it is not being easy at all!

Brief match details:
Poland 0: Gliwa; Socha, Plotka, Marciniak, Siebert, Makuszewski (Wodezki, min.84), Kupisz, Pietrowski, Pozniak (Wilczek, min.57), Sobiech (Chalas, min. 78) & Borysiuk.

Spain 1: De Gea; Azpilicueta, Botía, Víctor Ruiz, Canella (Ander Herrera, min.83); Javi Martínez, Thiago, Parejo (Canales, min.46), Mata, Capel (Adrián López, min.59) & Bojan.
