REAL MADRID 2010 | THE END OF THE DUTCH CONNECTION

Once upon a time REAL MADRID had six Dutch players in their squad for a cost of 123M€ paid to have their services. Today, & with the departure of Rafael Van Ver Vaart to Tottenham, the number of Dutch players in the team is zero.

To get to that zero, Real Madrid sold them for a price of 63M€ (- 60M€ loss) & Drenthe loaned out to Spanish Club Hercules. Here is a clear summary:

Van der Vaart. Signed for 13M€ from Hamburg & sold to Tottenham for 10M.
Robben. Signed from Chelsea for 36M€ & sold to Bayern Munich for 25M€.
Sneijder. Signed from Ajax for 25M€ & sold to Inter Milan for 15M€.
Huntelaar. Signed from Ajax for 20M€ & sold to AC Milan 13M
Van Nistelrooy. Real Madrid paid Manchester United 15M€ went free to Hamburgo.
Drenthe. 14M€cost the player from Feyenoord , on loan to Hercules.

End of a Dutch era.
