REAL MADRID played its annual presentation "Friendly game" in front of its home fans in the "Santiago Bernabeu Trophy" with Uruguayian guests PEÑAROL. The final result was a 2-0 win for the home team which was deceiving as it gave more doubts than confidence with just under 5 days left to the start of the new 2010-2011 LIGA season.
The 1ºst half line up was:
Casillas; Lass, Sergio Ramos, Carvalho, Marcelo; Khedira, Xabi Alonso, Canales, Özil, Cristiano Ronaldo; Higuaín.
that changed in the 2º half with the foillowing players getting a run.
Gago (injured), Di Maria, Granero, Benzema, JuanFran, Arbeloa, Mateos & Van der Vaart

It was precisely in the 2ºhalf that REAL MADRID managed to out-pace a tired Peñarol with two goals that gave the Spaniards the victory. The first was a brilliant individual run by ANGEL DI MARIA to score in the 68th min, while the 2ºgoal came from a penalty that RAFAEL VAN DER VAART scored in the 92nd min. Here is the VIDEO is the DI MARIA goal:
Many media observers have commented that Van der Vaart may have played his last game tonight as it seems the Dutchman forms part of a list that includes Drenthe & M.Diarra - just to mention two names - that the Club has put on the transfer market.
Some brief conclusions from tonights game is that although Real Madrid are tactically better in defence, there is a serious lack of real fire-power up front with Benzema still worrying many with his lack of form & performance. Also new signing Ozil looks lacking in physical form & will have to work hard to find pace, while the team overall looks "lost" at times. At this stage, rivals FC Barcelona look a much better side, but as with all the teams in pre-season it is still too early to really compare as Real Madrid Coach Mourinho has not stopped making experiments & many be hiding his cards.

But Benzema won the penalty at the end. Had he been the one to convert the penalty, no one would have suggested that he's undependable!

Hi Meys:
Some may have , not in my case. By the way, the penalty foul was committed on Van der Vaart.
Cheers
