MOTO GP: 2010 SEASON KICKS OFF IN QATAR - MIXED FOR SPANIARDS

The 2010 MOTO GP season kicked off under lights tonight in QATAR with mixed results - although relatively good - for the big contigent of Spanish riders this season on the two wheel vehicle.

The star catagory of GP started as it finished last year with VALENTINO ROSSI winning in great style. Earlier in the race Aussie Casey Stoner who dominanted training fell & starts without points which is a set back in his attempt to fight for the title. Behind Rossi the battle was mostly Dovizioso & Hayden who were surprised with 4 laps left by "injured" Spanish rider & Rossi team-mate JORGE LORENZO who overtook both & finished in 2º place & 3ºrd place finally fell to Divizioso. The other Spanish riders Pedrosa finished 7th & Barbera 12th.

The Moto 2 catagory formerly, 250cc last season, was won by Japanese rider TOMIZAWA, with Spaniard ALEX DEBON getting a great second place with Frenchmen CLUZEL coming in 3ºrd place.

In the 125cc catagory we got a picture to hang on the wall. All 3 placed riders are Spaniards, with the winner being TEROL, second place for VAZQUEZ & third to MARQUEZ. Great night for the boys here.

Next race : Japan GP
