Spanish Football - "La Liga" - summary of Round 21 games with results
& scorers:

Yesterday FC BARCELONA won GETAFE 2-1 with two "controversial"
Red Cards (Pique & Marquez) who many interpret as a "get back"
after strong criticism from Madrid based media that the referees
favour Barça. However, under these circumstances FC Barcelona
managed to win with goals from MESSI in the 6th min & XAVI in the
67th min. Getafe managed a penalty in the 94th min that SOLDADO
converted. This way Barça keeps a 5 point gap at the Top of the
ladder over rival Real Madrid

REAL MADRID put the same side as last week & defeated 3-0 RCD
ESPANYOL in another good exhibition of Football with a more
offensive & ball-playing team. SERGIO RAMOS who was outstanding
along with Albiol as Central Defender scored first in the 4th min with
a header, followed by KAKÁ who managed the second in the 29th min.
Real Madrid kept the attacking machine going & in the 90th min
HIGUAIN back from injury scored a great goal for his teams third.

VALENCIA CF defeated a lost VALLADOLID 2-0 with Argentine
midfielder BENEGAS being the star. He scored the first with a "cracker"

in the 7th min & set up DAVID VILLA for the 2º goal in the 28th min.
Valencia secure further the 3ºrd place on the ladder.

RACING DE SANTANDER had the opportunity of "revenge" after
ATLETICO DE MADRID defeated them last Thursday 4-0 in the
1ºleg of the Spanish Cup semi-finals. However, tonight their "Liga"

match ended in a 1-1 draw. DIEGO FORLAN put Atletico ahead in
the 23rd min, but COLSA equalized in the 35th min.

Now both teams will again meet mid week for the 2ºleg
semi-final Spanish Cup clash with Atletico in the box seat.

Great match between ATHLETIC DE BILBAO & XEREZ with the
former winning 3-2. The goals for Bilbao came via MUNAIN in the
2nd min & LLORENTE twice in the 64th & 86th min. For Xerez the
goals came from MORENO in the 9th min & BERMEJO in the 40th
min.

Big & surprising win by REAL ZARAGOZA 2-1 over SEVILLA FC who
seems to have their mind on the Spanish Cup. This loss takes them
further away from Valencia, & the top contenders, on the ladder.
The goals for Zaragoza came via CONTINS & an own goal by Sevilla
player Negredo.The only goal for Sevilla was thanks to KANOUTE
in the 32nd min. Finally to conclude it was a rough & tough game
with 2 red cards to Sevilla with Negredo one of them & a Red card
to Zaragoza.

OSASUNA defeated TENERIFE 1-0 with the only goal of the match
coming from ARANDA in the 49th min.






















MALLORCA defeated VILLAREAL 1-0 with goal from NUNES in the
81st min. Mallorca at home are a strengh as they keep winning while
Villareal are still going through a worrying bad patch.

MALAGA & DEPORTIVO played out today a 0-0 draw.

ALMERIA did a "demolition job" at home against REAL SPORTING DE
GIJÓN with a 3-1 victory that was rough & played hard with 7 yellow
cards & 3 red cards. DIEGO CASTRO put Sporting ahead first in the
12th min with a penalty, that changed from here with goals from
CRUSAT in the 14th min, CISMA in the 42nd min & GUILHERME in
the 80th min. Hard won 3ºpoints for Almeria.
