The 19 year old is the “2ยบ” ATLETICO DE MADRID goalkeeper & is
coming into age putting pressure on the current team goalie, the
other young 21 year old, Sergio Asenjo. De Gea has been at the Club
since he was 13 & has already a U/17 Spanish Team International
title as European Champion. His outstanding performances against
Recreativo & Celta in the last Spanish Cup ties have catapulted
the youngster into the spotlight.
The people in the know assure that De Gea is destined for great
things & is considered the young pearl of Spanish Football
goalkeeping. We will be keeping an eye on his evolution & keep
hoping he stops many more opponents’ attempts to score goals against
