The Spanish U-17 National Team got of to a good start against USA
with a well fought 2-1 victory in the U/17 World Championship
Group E opener being held in Nigeria. The match had to be stopped
twice due to cuts in the power that shut the lights, this added 15 mins
more of "tension" to the official 90 minutes.
The win was full of merit & praise for the Spaniards who found
themselves down with 10 men from the 2ºnd minute after Sergi
Gomez received a red card. The Spanish team then received the
first goal from USA two minutes later when MCINERMEY scored.
Spain did not lose their composure & managed to regain control
the game with goals from BORJA in the 22nd min & SARABIA in
the 30th min, to hold out the Americans for the rest of the game.
