SPAIN defeated NIGERIA 2-0 this afternoon in their Group B
qualifying game of the U/20 FIFA World Championship being
held in Egypt. The victory guarantees that Spain will be in the
next phase & quarter finals, although they still have to play
Venezuela.
FRAN MERIDA scored the two goals for Spain, the first in the 14th min
& then he transformed a penalty in the 83rd min in “Panenka” style.
Special mention should go out to Spanish & Atletico de Madrid
goalkeeper SERGIO ASENJO who stopped everything that Nigeria
threw at Spain to play a vital role in the team victory.
