Spanish & Barcelona based daily “Sport” publish today - & proudly
– that 14 FC BARCELONA players are involved tonight in World
Cup qualifiers & are playing for their ticket (& some their future)
for next years South African World Cup Finals. As the daily adds,
they all hope to follow Dani Alves who has already secured his
ticket after Brazil defeated Argentina 1- 3 last Sunday.
Lets see how the Barça players have/are fairing with their National
Teams:
Seydou Keita – Mali has missed out on the World Cup to Ghana
Yaya Toure – Ivory Coast need just 1 point to secure its ticket
Puyol, Pique, Busquets, Iniesta & Xavi – Spain needs 4 points.
They need to win tonight Estonia & see Bosnia fall in its game
Leo Messi – the future of Argentina is up in the air, needs a win
(draw is OK as well) against Paraguay
Rafa Marquez – his Mexico team needs to win Honduras to keep
its options alive
Thierry Henry & Eric Abidal – a loss against Serbia will not allow
France direct qualification from its Group.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic – Sweden need to win Malta. They are currently
3ºrd in their Group
Dmytro Chygrynskiy – Ukraine needs to win Byelorussia. The Ukraine
is 3ºrd in Group & needs to win to keep alive its options.
As can be seen, apart from FC BARCELONA having its players around
the globe, it shows the teams International profile.
