News from England & its paper "The Daily Mail" situate 32 year old
ex WEST HAM & Australian International Captain LUCAS NEILL within
the orbit of Spanish Club ATLETICO DE MADRID. SFS reported the
possibility of the signing a few days ago & the English media now
gives details of the offer which is said to be a 2 year contract at
1M€/year for the right-back who would be the substitue for the
departed John Heitinga.
The fact that Neill is without contract (without team) & Atletico has
a place in its season quota, allows Atletico to sign even though the
transfer "window" has shut, according to UEFA rules. Stay tuned!
LATEST - Spanish daily MARCA publish that ATLETICO has rejected
the option of LUCAS NEILL independently of what was published in
England. The player has another opportunity from REAL ZARAGOZA
but the economic conditions do not satisfy. It is likely Neill will
stay in England.
Staying with Atletico de Madrid, fans have orginized & called that all
followers go to the Atletico stadium next Saturday at 18.00 to
demonstrate their anger at the poor pre-season management of the
team. The protesters will congregate at DOOR Nº 0 before the
scheduled home match against Racing of Santander demostrate
publically for changes at the Club, including the end of the
management of some "Directives".
If your in Madrid & are an Atletico de Madrid supporter, go down &
voice your displeasure. See you there!
