– FC Barcelona – Ibrahimovic transfer operation. According to all the
news from Italy & picked up locally, there has been a significant
advance in the negotiations after Inter Milan Directives & Eto´o
representative unblocked certain issues (see below post) the hours
ago put the whole deal in danger, forcing FC Barcelona to make a
supposed 75M€ offer for Ibrahimovic.
The situation at this moment is the following:
1. Eto´o will not demand that FC Barcelona pay him 10M€ to end
his contract. This issue was the big problem as Barça refuses to pay
2. Instead to recompense that loss the player asks Inter Milan to pay
him 60M€ for the next 5 years
3. To make up that increase, Inter will up the transfer price of
Ibrahimovic for FC Barcelona. That is, Barça will pay the difference.
If it is true that under the pressure Barça offered 75€ for Ibrahimovic,
that has sent a message that money exists thus Inter will ask for more
(naturally the unofficial version)
Everything now points that Samuel Eto´o will end up at Inter Milan
& thus open the doors of FC Barcelona to Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The
Italian Club & Eto´o´s representative will meet tomorrow again to
hopefully shut the deal once & for all - hopefully! Tweet

Striker why do you think they're doing this?
I mean why pay so much for Ibrahimovic when a lower offer could have gotten them Villa?
Do you think it's only because of fear of losing Eto'o for free next year? That seems to not make any sense to me. Take an inferior player (in my opinion Villa is a better player than Ibrahimovic) for more money so you can get some money for a player you clearly don't want anymore. This makes no sense to me.
What do you think is going on?

The answer is media impact over Football reasons.
1. They had to get rid of Eto´o at all cost
2. His final year contract played a part
BUT the important reason was
3. Barça needs to counteract against REAL MADRID´s impact & also have a player of the same "media" impact Worldwide
Im with you, imagine how Villa & Luis Felipe feel who did´nt sign because Barça did not fork out the cash. Now they put up 50M€...
This is what rivalry does.
Right, I understand that they had to make a big signing so they can make some headlines.
My question though is why Ibrahimovic instead of Villa.
It looks like they are both costing about the same. In fact Valencia wasn't asking for Hleb or Eto'o so maybe Villa would have been cheaper. It seems to me like Villa is a better choice for many reasons. He's a better player. He's better known. He's more popular in Spain which is where most Barça fans are.
So the question to me is why pay so much for Ibrahimovic and not at least make a similar deal for Villa?
There crazy! That´s the simple answer. This operation is about everything else except Football & playing field strategy.
Its all about heart & nothing to do with the head. Football is after all passion!
