MOTO GP: GOOD DAY FOR SPANIARDS, GREAT DAY OF RACING

The CATALUNYA (Spain) GP has been good to the Spanish riders
today, & apart it turned out to be a fabulous day of events & racing,
specially the GP catagory. Here is a brief summary of days proceedings
& results.

The 125cc catagory put two Spaniards on podium, second place
to TEROL & third place to GADEA, with IANNONE winning after
Spanish rider & leader of the catagory SIMON mistook the last lap
as being the final lap!

The 125 cc World Championship standing is currently:
1. Simon 84pts; 2. Smith 82.5; 3.Iannone

Spaniard ALVARO BAUSTISTA won the 250cc catagory & opens a
small break in the World Championship table, after rival Simoncelli
fell & thus made things easy. There was a tough duel for second &
third places with Japanese AOYAMA taking 2º spot after Spaniard
BARBARÁ got 3ºrd with tyre problems & losing position in the last
lap.

The 250cc World Champions standings are currently:
1. Bautista 108pts; 2.Aoyama 96; 3. Barbará 75

The GP catagory gave us the race of the day & of the season so far
with current World Champ & "old dog" VALENTINO ROSSI taking
away a "certain"
victory for Spaniard JORGE LORENZO at the last
curve to the finish. Australian ex-World Champ CASEY STONER had
a good race while suffering bike & climate problems to finish an
admirable third place.

But all eyes were on the Lorenzo & Rossi duel were Rossi stamped his
authority over his young & upcoming star rider & teammate Lorenzo.
It was a psychological hammering message from Rossi that will leave
its mark on Lorenzo who was beginning to lose "respect" for the
master. As mentioned a nail biting last lap that will live in the
memory for
sometime. Here is the VIDEO of the last lap battle were
Lorenzo was out foxed - a video available until YouTube or GP
organization
decide to take it off . Until then watch & enjoy the
magic:

The GP World Championship standings are currently:
1. Rossi 106pts; 2. Lorenzo 106 pts; 3. Stoner 106 pts
(3 way tie at the top)
