picked up here locally by all the Spanish sporting press, publish that
MANCHESTER CITY has expressed an interest in signing REAL MADRID
winger ARJEN ROBBEN for 20M€. There is another Club in the
“grand” picture that has shown interest as well & that is INTER
MILAN, but here the relationship Robben – Coach Mourinho isn’t so
good & this option may lose strength.
With the supposed & announced arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo to
Real Madrid next season, the Dutch International would have
difficulties playing regularly as the Portuguese star would have
preference. This may encourage Real Madrid to get some cash
into their bank account as the Ronaldo transfer will be a huge
withdrawal, plus Robben will wish to go to a team that will give
him a regular & secure place with the World Cup Finals in South
Africa happening in 2010.
The only doubt in all this story is the announced price of 20M€.
Two years ago Real Madrid paid 36M€, & SFS doubts that Real
Madrid will sell for anything less than 25-30M€ which may include
a player in the operation - if no player, they will want to recoup
investment
Until then & if it happens, Arjen Robben has recovered from injury
& will be part of the Real Madrid team that faces FC Barcelona
tomorrow night in the game of the season that may settle the
Spanish League. Great opportunity to show the World how really
good you are & an excellent performance will increase the palyers
market price.
