FC BARCELONA travelled to VALLADOLID & managed to "handle" the
pressure, not only from the home side but the neck breathing second placed Real
Madrid, with a 0-1 victory . Valladolid was a rugged & tough unit tonight that
made Barça work its pay. The only goal scored came from the Spanish
League´s leading goal scorer SAMUEL ETO´O who chipped into the net &
takes his personal tally to 26 goals this season.
SEVILLA FC consolidates its 3ºrd classification place & Champions League
position with a 0-1 win over lower placed RECREATIVO. An evenly
fought game that was settled by a penalty awarded to Sevilla which was
scored by KANOUTE.
ATHLETIC DE BILBAO finally turned its losing run with a brave victory
gained in the final moments 2-1 over MALLORCA. The Bilbao Captain
YESTE started proceedings with his 3ºrd min goal. However, Mallorca
needs points to stay clear of the bottom "danger zone" & kept on attacking.
They were awarded for their efforts when in the 72nd min JURADO equalized.
But Bilbao via JAVI MARTINEZ in the 84th min with his goal turned it all
around & gave victory to the home team.
REAL BETIS drew 3-3 with second last NUMANCIA in the "crazy game"
of the Round. It was see-saw stuff with goals & comebacks galour during
the 95 mins - I will explain this.

Numancia took over & scored via ARANDA in the 39th & later BARKERO

Horrible day & game for VILLAREAL who lost 3-0 to ALMERIA , the 3
points & Spanish International SANTIAGO CAZORLA with a broken leg!
The goals for Almeria came from inform player NEGREDO (above) in the
6th min, PIATTI in the 19th & MANÉ in the 34th. The frustration built up in
Villareal during the 2ºhalf saw Pires get sent off with a Red Card (double
yellow).

particular chase to attempt to take away Barça´s crown. They defeated away
