SFS FLASHBACKS: THE DAY VILLAREAL NEARLY MADE THE FINAL OF CHAMPIONS

Situation: Year 2006, it’s the semi-finals of the Champions League &
VILLAREAL are at their highest European moment. In the first leg of
the semi final English Club Arsenal have beaten Villareal 1-0 with a
goal by Emmanuel Eboué. The second leg was at Villareal, Villareal
were playing great & aiming to score at least a goal to force extra time
& in the worst case a penalty shoot-out. That chance came when Villareal
was rewarded a penalty in the last moments in which Argentine midfielder
RIQUELME stepped up to take. This is what happened:



Arsenal managed to finish the second leg game in a 0-0 draw, win the tie
with its home goal & move into the Final of the Champions League were
