THE FUTURE FOR SAMUEL ETO´O IS AT AC MILAN?

The gossip & the speculations were let loose this weekend when it was
revealed that FC BARCELONA forward SAMUEL ETO ´O had made
some interesting comments to French media – “Sportweek” - concerning
his future. When asked, will he stay at Barcelona, the player answered
that he has already decided his future but could not say anything for the
moment. This & the fact that he is holding ( its also been said rejected) out
on renewing his contract with the Spanish Club has opened the “Box of
Pandora”.

Italian paper “Gazzetta Dello Sport” publish that Samuel Eto´o is “secretly”
in conversations with AC MILAN via his representative. The Italian Club
wishes to take the negotiations in a very low key manner so as to not enter in
any potential problems with the FIFA rules of player "pouching".

The paper goes on to cite that Eto´o is very aware the Coach Guardiola &
FC Barcelona did not count on him at the start of the season & that they
wished to sell him, this upset the player & has left a deep mark. He may

plan to run his contract with Barça until 2010 & then go FREE to Milan.

Having said all this, SFS puts another possible angle. Samuel Eto´o is a
very crafty man, who has always looked well after his interest & could be
playing with both sides to see which gives him the best conditions. He
could be utilising the strategy to make Barça “nervous” with AC Milan in
the background so to pressure his Club to lift conditions of a contract
renewal to his heights. One thing is clear, while Eto´o continues to score
goals he will have all the bargaining power.
