WORLD CUP 2010 QUALIFIER:ESTONIA 0-SPAIN 3 (SEE VIDEO)

The current European Champions were given work tonight in their
Group qualifying match. SPAIN defeated ESTONIA away 0-3 but
the result is misleading to a certain extent, although Spain played well.

Estonia planted a solid wall in defense & played to the counter-attack

to had during the first 30 min Spain against the ropes, including a
Casillas goal save to keep them out. However, Spain grabbed back the

situation after defender JUANITO headed in the first goal in the 33rd
min from a free kick , as seen below celebrating with teammates.

Later Fernando Torres was fouled in the box & Spain was awarded a
penalty which DAVID VILLA converted in the 37th min to give his side

a comfortable lead, this relaxed Spain & gave them control.

But the European Champions must have believed that it was going

to be smooth sailing in the 2º half as they seemed to drop their
concentration. Estonia returned to set up it´s planned game of

solid defending & counter-attacks & again "rattled" Spain. The
Spaniards were nervious & not playing their usual game of touch
Football until PUYOL scored from a Fernando Torres header that

hit the bar to land on his path. It was the 69th min & that 3ºrd goal
seemed to have taken finally the wind out of Estonia who allowed
Spain to take control until the end.

See VIDEO of the three goals:

The conclusion from all this is that Spain played relatively well without

some difficulties as expected, that they continue to be undefeated
& have notched up another three points to keep the top
spot of their
Group with 9ºpoints ahead of Turkey & Belgium with 7ºpoint who each
won respectively as well tonight.

Next match for Spain is next Wednesday night against BELGIUM. A
difficult game that will need to have the Spaniards 100% concentrated
& fit, although they do go in as favourites.

Hi,

I had a chance to see the match and take some pictures as well. As you mentioned, Spain won as expected, but Estonia had it's chances which they couldn't realize.
