Here are news stories from the two main Spanish Sports dailys
"As" & "Marca" at times contradictory. The first gives the scoop
on the REAL MADRID 2009 Signning Strategy & the second on the
new Real Madrid signning objective.
According to "As", REAL MADRID will not make any signnings
in the January 2009 Winter market & will instead go all out for
CRISTIANO RONALDO. If the Manchester United star becomes
again a difficult affair, the substitute star will be 20 year old OLY.
DE LYON forward BENZEMA.
Real will also go all out for a class winger - area they are short at this
moment. The names on the list are both from BAYERN MUNICH:
RIBERY &/or SCHWEINSTEIGER.
Real Madrid are currently working right at this moment to secure things
as tight as possible. Obviously, learning from past experiences.
With all this "Marca" announce that REAL MADRID will sign in the
January 2009 Winter market & they coincide with "As" that it will
be a winger although differ in names. The name is Russian DZAGOER
(above) from CSKA MOSCOW who precisely scored 2 goals yesterday
to sink Deportivo in their Uefa Cup match. Here is a clip of the Russian
in action:
Which paper is right? How cares, all for the love of Real Madrid &
the selling of papers. Stay tuned!

I don't think that Real Madrid CF will get away with signing Ribéry or Schweinsteiger. While Ribéry has stated that he is happy at FC Bayern, Klinsmann and Hoeness are doing their best to extend Schweinsteiger's contract (which expires in 2009). It would really be tragic for Bayern if their one-club man (who was pretty much bred and raised by the club) were to leave on a Bosman transfer to "los Merengues" during the summer. I am not really a big fan of winter transfers, as they provide very little time for the new players to settle in, and most of them are cup-tied anyway.
I can truly see C. Ronaldo wearing white next season. I personally think that he would've left Old Trafford at the beginning of this season, but Sir Alex Ferguson convinced him not to do so (I would've done the same thing). Ferguson will have to worry about finding a proper replacement for C. Ronaldo, and he's got a LOT of time until Madeira man leaves to sunny Spain.
I think they have a good shot at nailing Ronaldo. I think it'll happen.
