WORLD CUP 2010 QUALIFIER - GROUP 5: SPAIN 1 - BOSNIA 0 (SEE VIDEO)

The scoreline is not a true indicator of the game. SPAIN defeated
1-0 BOSNIA in a match were Spain could have scored more had
they not hit the bar or missed a penalty, all in the 1º st half.

Spain was the superior team all night but did not manage to convert

all their numerous chances into goal. The Spanish midfield is perhaps
the best in the World & gave opportunities all night, but with only
one forward upfront it was difficult to transform all the chances.

DAVID VILLA scored the games & Spain´s only & winning goal
in the 57th min after side passing the goalkeeper & squeezing in

a goal from a difficult angle.

INIESTA (above) was absolutely brilliant tonight with midfield
control , creative play & was the goal opportunity supplier that
deserves
the man of the match.

Great game from Spain, dominated all night but just needs to

transform the brilliant one-twos into goals. Next match on
Wednesday against Armenia.

See Video of David Villa´s goal. Notice how it all begins from Puyol in

defence:

Spain sound as if they just managed to squeeze this victory, while I and a few others have been pouring over England's equally straining victory over Andorra, which almost mirrored our efforts against the same team last year March. To digress slightly, in both matches we drew 0-0 at half time and endured the boos of our fans, only to come out the second half with goals. Not real WC potential.

But anyone who are down because Spain didnt hit Bosnia for more than one should be content with the knowledge that had Spain needed to really turn on the goals, they have the capability and likelihood to do so, despite Torres' absence. The French have that capability, allegedly, yet they suffered at the hands of the Austrians 3-1. But after Wednesday, if the national side walk from Yerevan with six points, that should certainly quell any disgruntlement.

Hi RedsMen,

Spain could have scored 5 goals more, they just did not manage to convert...not their night.

However the midfield is certainly impressive...awesome!

Follow your line of thought, at this stage the points are the objective, leave the beautiful play for the WC finals :)

Great to see you in. Cheers. Hello to the EliteFootball Team!

Do you have any thoughts as to why Casillas is now wearing the number 12 instead of number 1?

Mallymoodle ,

It was a simple burocratic mistake. The official list was given to the officials with Casillas Nº12...

Next match he will be back to Nº1

Nice to see you in.
