It´s precisely with the just mentioned game that we start our summary.
REAL MADRID defeated a tough NUMANCIA 4-3 with GUTI (above)
going down in history as the player who scored Real´s 5000th goal in
"Liga" history (see post below).
However, it was Numancia via MORENO who got ahead first in the 6th
min with a header from a corner that "shocked" the local team. Real
reacted to equalize via GUTI in the 18th min , but Numancia reacted
quickly again in the 21st min to get ahead again via BAKERO.
It was the tonic for the rest of the game, as Real Madrid compensated
for its poor defense with an effective attack, & it was HIGUAÍN who
equalized four minutes later & then in the 33st min VAN DER HAART
put them ahead with the teams 3ºrd. Real was having its best moment
with lots of pressure upfront that was rewarded when Numancia player
CISMA put in an own goal to give Real a handy lead after the 1ºst half.
However, Numancia came out fighting in the 2ºhalf & was rewarded
when MORENO ( below) put in his 2ºgoal & his team 3ºrd from a
free-kick that put the nerves into Real Madrid.
Real Madrid managed to hold out & take the 3º points in a very worked
game. Numancia can leave proud tonight & Real Madrid will have to
better their defense as it was not up to the standards needed of a
Champion.

ESPANYOL also worked hard to grab a late victory in the 83rd
minute when LUIS GARCIA scored to take & finish the match with
a 0-1 scoreline over RECREATIVO. The latter paid the price of not

Talking about lost opportunities, GETAFE let off the hook BETIS
after Albin missed a penalty in the 83rd min to have the game finish

MALLORCA started well with a 15th min goal thanks to ADURIZ
(above), however lack of concentration & a determined OSASUNA
allowed forward PORTILLO to pull in the equalizer in the 84th
min: Result 1-1 draw
Not much to say here. MALAGA & ATHLETIC DE BILBAO finished
in a 0-0 draw. The only thing to say is that Athletic is playing poorly
& will need to better if they are not to find themselves soon on the
bottom of the ladder & spending the rest of the season playing to avoid
relegation. Malaga have been promoted & have an excuse.
VILLAREAL looked good if only they won today 1-0 against
DEPORTIVO.Villareal had chances throughtout & were unlucky not

Just result in the ALMERIA vs VALENCIA CF game with the final
result a 2-2 draw, with Valencia making a well fought comeback.
It was Almeria who started well with a goal in the 20th min by
PIATTI , that was matched in the 35th min by Valencia after ALEXIS
converted from a cornor to equalize. But it was in form Almeria forward
NEGREDO (above) who quickly put his team in the lead with an
excellent goal in the 39th min

However, you cannot count out Valencia at all when you have men like
DAVID VILLA upfront. He began giving signs & warnings early in the
2ºhalf & was rewarded for his persistent play with the equalizer in the
68th min. From here on it seemed that both teams settled for the draw
