August, therefore most teams & their respective coaches will
begin fine tunning their squads as of mid July. As we all understand
the pre-season trainning period is important for players to regain
their fitness levels & to create a solid team base to confront the long
season ahead.
This years Olympic Games at Pekin kick off a the start of August &
many big Spanish teams & their coach will not be able to count on
some of their star players for pre-season because of their participation
in China.
Lets just only take ARGENTINA for example & see the impact.
It affects Atletico de Madrid, Real Madrid & FC Barcelona in a
big & important manner as Sergio Aguero, Gago & Leo Messi will be
on Olympic duties. But the Argentine list has more Spanish based
players that will miss pre-season with their clubs: Benega, Usatri,
Fazio, Acosta, Garay & Zabaleta. If we add the other nations that
will participate , eg Brasil the impact on "La Liga" is important.
Some angry coaches at the moment in the Spanish League who would

Just want to say what a fantastic blog this is and you are doing a great job. I am due to go and see my favourite team Dundee United play Barcelona on 26th July. I know now Messi will be missing but do you know of any other stars that wont be at the game?
