As mentioned on previous ocassions FC BARCELONA may have
a hole upfront: their centre-forward, the traditional Number 9.
It´s more than likely that their current Nº9 SAMUEL ETO´O
will leave, & the forward has numerous offers ranging from
Tottenham, Manchester City, Chelsea FC, Inter & the most
serious to date, AC MILAN. The Italian giant has offered,
according to "Sport", a 4 year contract with 9M€/season. The
only obstacule is that Barça wishes 40M€ & Milan only wishes
to pay 25M€
Without a true Nº9 for the new season FC BARCELONA is in the
market looking at various options (eg Berbatov - Tottenham, Mario
Gomez - Stuttgart), but the name of Frenchman DAVID TREZEGUET
is sounding more as new coach Guardiola looks favourably at his
incorporation.
According to "Mundo Deportivo" a Barça representative could fly
this week to Turin to advance with talks. The hurdle is the following:
JUVENTUS wishes 25M€ while Barça is willing to pay 15M€.

Am I wrong, but wouldn't Henry be considered a 9?...or is it a given that he wouldn't be playing fulltime, with Bojan as backup.
Henry could be a perfect Nº9, your correct, but the question is , What if Henry got injuried? Who will substitute him? Barça look for a class back up, someone like Larsson in his days at Barça.
Thanks for the comment!
Cheers
This is where the Dani Guiza signing makes cents. I feel that he is NO replacement for Eto'o, be he would be a good complimentary backup player. For around €10m I consider it a low risk investment. As long as he is able to accept his role on the team and understand that he's not going to get anywhere near the same amount of touches that he did at Mallorca I'm fine with the move. You would be hard pressed to find a better alternative for the same price.
With all that said, I think Guardiola wants a taller-stronger striker on his roster that he can use to mismatch smaller team in La Liga.
