out right a real bastard. But that´s Football & GETAFE felt it
tonight after finishing its 2º leg Q/Final clash against BAYERN
MUNICH 3-3, but losing on the away goals.
The hard part? That the Germans scored a goal that should have
been disallowed in the last minute (a foul), that killed Getafe on the
spot. Not fair, as Getafe deserved to win the game & to pass into the
semi-finals, but...
Getafe were down to 10 men in the 5th min after De La Red was
given a red card for being the last man to foul. They were behind
the 8 ball from the start, but this team is all guts & determination. In
the 45th min CONTRA scored for Getafe & they were in the semis.
Brilliant game from the whole Getafe team as they stopped everything,
& could have gone ahead & finished off Bayern if BRAULIO had nt
slipped in front of a open goal - they would remember this later!
Then, with luck not on Getafe´s side, Bayern forward RIBERY
forced the extra - time in the 89th min with his goal.
The extra-time was all excitemente & Getafe started attacking to grab
the prize - a goal from CASQUERO (best on the field) in the 91
st min of extra time, & another goal from BRAULIO in the 93rd min.
Amazing, 3-1 & it looked like Getafe would go through with only
10 men, Bayern were in total shock.
So what happened? Mistakes, mistakes that get paid dearly. In the
115th min a stupid goalkeeping mistake from Getafe goalie
Abbondanzieri, allowed Bayern forward LUCA TONI ( above) to score
his teams second. Getafe just needed to hold on till the end, but again
luck was not on their side & in the last minute, LUCA TONI scored
Bayerns 3ºrd goal & the winner. It was a foul & should not have
been allowed, but that´s life. Getafe knocked out in the last seconds.
How cruel. Getafe lost but showed everyone that they are great & earned
the respect of the Germans & everyone watching. However, we will all
remember Bayern Munich tomorrow who go into the semi - finals

Yes, very cruel indeed. It would have been that perfect fairy tale. Getafe were doing fine with only 10 men against the 11 superstars of Munich. Awful. I really feel bad for Getafe. Will be interesting to see what happens with this Getafe team. If they can hold onto their manager, Ladrup. They still have to play in the Copa Del Rey final and have a good chance against Valencia.
With Valencia, I have no idea what team will come out to play. I still can't believe how such a talented Valencia have done so poorly. Ofcourse, I have seen their decline week after week, except that one magical week where they beat Barca and Madrid.
Incredible meltdown ! With a few minutes to go in regulation I am thinking, well Pato is going to have two clean sheets in a row against Barcelona and Bayern Munich. Ribery put an end to that, and then Pato lost his mind at the end of the match.
