SPANISH FOOTBALL - LA LIGA - ROUND 32/ 2008 SUNDAY GAMES RESULTS

Round 32 of "La Liga" had its 8º games scheduled today, after
yesterday saw two played with Barça losing another 2ºpoints &
Racing winning to put pressure for the 4ºth spot on the ladder, one
of the Champions League tickets for next season.
















Controversial game REAL MADRID - REAL MURCIA were the
former took the opportunity & won 1-0 to open up a 9º point lead
over arch rivales Fc Barcelona. Real Madrid made an important
advance towards the Spanish title tonight & with only 10 men on the
field after Torres received a harsh Red Card in the 18th min.

Cannavaro was rested, Robinho & Pepe were back in the line up &
both were active with the latter involved in questioned incidents that
Murcia claimed some were penalties, but it was´nt till the 59th min
that SNEIJDER (above) put in a great goal to put Real ahead &
give them the win.















ATLETICO DE MADRID returned to let again go another opportunity
when they allowed VALLADOLID to draw in the last minute & put
Racing just 1ºpoint behind them on the ladder & their 4ºth spot on
in danger.

Atletico dominanted the game, MAXI RODRIGUEZ (above) scored in the
70th min to put Atletico ahead. Goalkeeper Franco was back for Atletico
& made some good saves, while he watched how his teammates Luis Garcia
& Forlan failed to put in the second goal. That failure was costly as it gave
Valladolid hope, & another defensive mistake allowed Nigerian striker
OGBECHE score the equalizer, & by the way, it was off-side!
End result 1-1, now the nerves return for Atletico.

















LEVANTE are virtually in the 2ºdivision next season, but that
does´nt halt their pride & they showed today their true grit with a
0-1 victory over REAL BETIS.

The scorer for Levante was PEDRO LEON in the 53rd min (seen
above celebrating)






















GETAFE were still in shock over the midweek Uefa Cup loss & with
the other half of their mind on this Wednesdays Spanish Cup Final.
REAL ZARAGOZA are in the relegation zone & need desperately
all the points they can get.

Nerves, taht made it a tough & rugged affair, Zaragoza hit the
post, missed chances & Getafe held out with its share of no luck. The result
a 0-0 draw that is accepted by Getafe & puts Zaragoza closer to 2º
division.















ESPANYOL go for bad to worst, another loss today to OSASUNA
with the scoreline 0-1, thanks to the goal by ASTUDILLO in the
30th min.















DEPORTIVO are making an excellent late run with a grand
string of victories & they notched another today 3-0 against
ATHLETIC DE BILBAO.

COLOCCINI got things rolling in the 30th min ( seen above),
followed by SERGIO who converted a penalty in the 64th min
& FELIPE LUIS scored the third in the 74th min.

Great win!

SEVILLA FC in form is one of Europe´s great teams, they defeated
today - with a little needed work - MALLORCA 2-3. This win puts
Sevilla into 6ºth place & in Uefa positions, although their objective
is the coverted 4ºth place, currently being fought for by Atletico &
Racing.

All the action happened after the 42th min, with RENATO opening for
Sevilla, which was answered by Mallorca via GUIZA. Sevilla then
dominated & KANOUTE scored Sevilla´s 2º goal in the 67th min
followed by a "cracker" from ALVES in the 76th min.

Sevilla were on their way to victory, when WEBO for Mallorca
sneaked in his teams 2º goal in the 90th min, but Sevilla were home.






















ALMERIA have defeated VILLAREAL 1-0 & have done a favour to
Fc Barcelona who remain 2º on the ladder & more importantly Real
Madrid who have the title just that little bit more closer tonight, as
they have a 10 point gap with Villareal & 9ºpoint gap with Barça.

However, back to the game. Merit to Almeria how are a tight & well
organized outfit, that utilized the luck they had today. The advantage
went their way in the 17th min when Diego Lopez, Villareal goalkeeper,
was given the red card for a foul, that left his team with 10 men from
then onwards.

Almeria missed the penalty ( taken by Negredo) & were dangerous

throughout the rest of the match. Villareal tried hard & attempted
to cover the holes until the 84th min when ACASIETE ( above with
Nihat) got through with his goal. The points went Almeria´s way.
