opportunity to close the gap after Real Madrid lost yesterday &
messed up in the endevour. Villareal won & now are only 2ºpoints
behind Barcelona, with the rest of the clubs either fighting to avoid
relegation or trying to get into the Euro positions. Heres the summary
of the scores, the scorers & images.
The above image is the look of dismay as ALMERIA tear a win
away from FC BARCELONA & the 3ºpoints. It was two cornor kicks
& 2º goals to Almeria who "pricked" the Barça wheel with the 2-2
draw result to give back life to rivals Real Madrid who are with a
7ºpoint gap.
It was a tough affair all game with 5 yellow cards & a Red Card to
Barça defender Milito in the later part of the 2º half that gave
Almeria the chance to believe in the draw.
Barcelona started well with a goal from BOJAN in the 16th min,
that was equalized in the 32nd min by Almeria player PULIDO. In
the 2ºhalf Barça looked good & got back in ahead thanks to
SAMUEL ETO´O (below) in the 57th min & it looked like it was
smooth sailing. However a Red Card to Milito put Barça in
disadvantage & they payed for it in the 86th min from a cornor kick
that K.ULCHE scored for the draw. Relief in Madrid!
GETAFE are in a "sweet" run after defeating RACING 2-1 with
grit. Racing got ahead in the 54th min via SMOLAREK, to see
Getafe take over the remaining part of the 2ºhalf to run over
Racing with goals from UCHE (66thmin) & GAVILAN (76thmin)
ESPANYOL found that old magic again that allowed them to win
against MALLORCA, although the latter got ahead early in the 12th
min via GUIZA. Then LUIS GARCIA ( below) was blessed in the
2ºhalf & scored twice ( 57th & 89th min) to give his team the win.
Final score 2-1.
Just result in a "boring" match between VALLADOLID &
OSASUNA.Final result 0-0
VILLAREAL won 2-0 REAL ZARAGOZA & are now on the heels of
2ºplaced Fc Barcelona with only 2ºpoints that seperates them. The
"Yellow Submarime" is finding great form again & is a real threat.
It Turkish International NIHAT is pulling his side onward & scored
again early in the 10th min ( pictured below). Then in the 65th min
another young promise ROSSI sealed the victory with his goal.
Zaragoza are back in trouble!
If ATLETICO DE MADRID lost tonight they would have been out of
Champions League positions as Sevilla Fc is up there competing.
Thankfully they did not disappoint this time & defeated last placed
LEVANTE 3-0.
A relatively comfortable game for Atletico with SIMAO starting
things off in the 24th min with an unusual header. He later gave
the pass for the second Atletico goal to FORLAN (below) in the 38th
min, who scored his second & Atletico´s third in the 54th min.
Important victory for Atletico who manage to stay with the 4ºth spot,
the last of the 4 places that qualify for Champions League next season.

Signs are starting to appear that Real Madrid are stuttering, but on current form Barca just aren't going to be able to make up the ground. In fact, I'm starting to wonder whether they'll even finish runner-up, as their attention will now understandably be drawn to the Champions League.
I have to give credit to Almeria, though. Yet another good result for them. Emery is quickly making a name for himself as one of the most promising young coaches in Europe.
