SPANISH FOOTBALL - LA LIGA - ROUND 26 /2008 SATURDAY GAMES RESULTS

"Super Saturday" & Real Madrid are still leaders, this time with a
5º point advantage over Fc Barcelona who lost to At. Madrid. Sevilla
also lost & Espanyol put another nail into Valencia´s already
suffering season.















RECREATIVO lost 2-3 to REAL MADRID who again widen the gap
by 5ºpoints over second placed & title rival Fc Barcelona. It was a
tough game & Real Madrid at one stage found themselves looking into
the abyss, but Robinho who came on the last 15 min turned the game
around.
Recreativo scored first via M.MARTINS in the 15th min, but RAUL
(above) equalized bravely in the 27th min.

















Then Recreativo lost two men to red cards ( Alvarez & Beto) with
Real also losing Sergio Ramos to another red card. It looked that
the game would end in a draw, when coach Schuster made the
"miracle change". ROBINHO came on for the last 15 mins & scored
in the 74th & 90th min, the last a rael gem. Recreativo managed
another goal with a fabulous free kick for C.MARTINS, but the
damage was already done. Important victory for Real Madrid!


















ATLETICO DE MADRID got its act together in the best possible way
with a 4-2 win over FC BARCELONA which allows Real to open a 5º
point gap in the classification table.
Fc Barcelona started well scoring first via a fantastic overhead goal by
RONALDINHO ( above) in the 29th min. Then the "man of the match"
SERGIO AGUERO equalized 6 mins later.
























From then on Atletico took full control & went ahead thanks to
MAXI RODRIGUEZ ( above) in the 41st min. After that in the
2ºhalf a penalty which FORLAN converted in the 62nd min
with another goal, & again AGUERO in the 71st min secured the
victory. Barça managed to score a second goal in the 73rd min via
SAMUEL ETO´O but it was too late.
Excellent win for Atletico who hold onto their European classification
position, bad result for Barça!

FC SEVILLA had its chance to enter Euro positions & danger Atletico
de Madrid´s 4th place, but they failed after losing 2-1 to DEPORTIVO

who really needed to win.
Sevilla went ahead with a goal by KANOUTE ( above) in the 24th min,
but Deportivo equalized thanks to a penalty that WILHELNSSON
(below) converted.
Then in the 65th min LAFITA for Deportivo scored the winner & gave his

team the valuable 3ºpoints that helps them in their personal fight to avoid
relegation. Oxygen for Depor!

ESPANYOL finally won again to stay up in the ladder at the expense

of a suffering VALENCIA CF 2-0.
The "destroyer" was LUIS GARCIA ( below) who scored his teams two

goals, one of them a penalty in the 03rd min & the other 57th min.
