luck & frustration, & you have a bad result. BOLTON WANDERERS
defeated ATLETICO DE MADRID 1-0 in the 1ºleg game of the
UEFA CUP, setting it all up for the 2º leg game in Madrid thats
going to be a real do or die affair. The result is not too bad at all,
but its the way Atletico lost that "hurts" with missed chances, an
injury to Simao & a Red Card for Sergio Aguero who came on in the
2º half.
It was Bolton´s skillful forward DIOUF ( above) that clenched the
winner with his goal in the 73rd min , straight after the Aguero
Red Card that made the concentration level of Atletico fall. This
however does not take away any merit from the Bolton goal at all.
DIEGO FORLAN was active & hit the post in the 53rd min, along
with other missed chances earlier from Simao & Antonio Lopez.
Strong close marking was the norm for Bolton & they played their game
well & must be congratulated for the win. Now its up to the 2º leg
where Atletico must put all its effort in to gather their traditional
"epic fighting spirit" to turn the tie around. Promises to be a great
